BRAKES

Provincial Services, Crane Specialists

Welcome to the Provincial Services' BRAKES PAGE. On this page you will be able to see the many different types of brakes that Provincial Services carries and services, from general purpose to heavy duty.

Gen. Purpose

General Purpose Brakes

The General Purpose Shoe Brakes are designed as heavy duty, cost effective products for a wide variety of industrial applications. The simple design concept, using a minimum of moving parts, has produced an extremely reliable range of brakes which are easy to install, adjust and maintain. The compact size, with low shaft height has made it easy to retro-fit into existing installations where space is tight. Typical industrial applications would include: cranes, conveyors, hoists, bridges, fans, winches, moveable bridges, lockgates and many other types of rotating machinery.

AISE-NEMA Mill Duty Brakes

AISE-NEMA

The AISE-NEMA rated mill duty brakes are designed for heavy duty steel mill and other tough, arduous environments and applications, which require high integrity products. The advanced design features, combined with fabricated steel construction, makes this range of brakes suitable for applications requiring hard braking with a minimum of maintenance and downtime, including: Steel Mills, Stacker Reclaimers, Shiploaders, Port Cranes, Shipyard Cranes, Offshore Drilling Rigs, Missile Assembly Cranes, Incinerator Cranes, Large Gorillas etc.

TYPES "MBE" AND "MST" - ELECTRIC - HYDRAULIC OPERATED
Both types can be fitted with Pedal or Power assisted hydraulic over-ride to produce a dual purpose brake. This hybrid brake is useful for EOT bridges, Gantry cranes and similar applications where dual control and/or emergency stopping and parking are required.

Heavy Duty

Heavy Duty Disc Brakes

Heavy Duty

Mondel heavy disc brakes are designed using heavy section steel fabrications and weldments to produce higher safety factors than the disc brakes currently available in the industry. The disc brakes are particularly suitable on applications requiring high torques and/or low inertia drives with fast accelerations and deceleration, such as container crane hoist drives. Disc brakes are an effective, efficient and reliable method of stopping and holding for a wide variety of drive systems requiring the following features:

  • Low Inertia
  • Fast Response
  • High Torques (Two brakes on one disc)
